Color Tool Quick Start

Welcome to the color tool! Here is a quick start guide to setting up and editing the basics of your color options. When we set up your app, we will add in some color information to get you started, but you can adjust/add/edit anything to your needs.

Color Palettes

What is a color palette? A color design option where buyers are presented with selectable color swatches for each exterior material on their house. This enables them to instantly color design their house online.

In our 2.0 app, we have broadened the palette horizon by allowing users to create more than 1 palette per material. For instance, if you have multiple communities with different vendors for door colors, you can create separate palettes and assign each palette to its correlating community.

Here are the palette tutorials to get you started:

  1. How to add a color palette
  2. How to edit a color palette
  3. How to assign color palettes

*If you are using color schemes only in the app, then you may not need to worry about palettes at all. You can jump straight into adding or editing your schemes without needing to create/edit palettes.

Color Schemes

What is a color scheme? A color design option where buyers are presented with whole house exterior color schemes choices to instantly color design their house online.

Here are the scheme tutorials to get you started:

  1. How to add a scheme-only color scheme
  2. How to edit a color scheme
  3. How to assign color schemes to elevations

Hybrid Color Schemes

A color hybrid occurs when schemes are created, but palettes are also assigned to materials within the scheme. This gives users the opportunity to stay with the scheme presented or adjust some colors to what they wish. The new and improved Hybrid feature in our 2.0 dashboard allows you the option to add additional colors (from assigned palettes) for certain materials and lock other materials down to just the one selected for the scheme (no assigned palettes).

In the example below, you can see “Shingles” has a small gray arrow under the swatch. This indicates that users can select another color if they wish to for this particular material. When they click on the swatch, a menu with other choices pops up.

Here is the tutorial on how to add a hybrid color scheme, but you may need to refer to the palette and scheme tutorials listed above to edit your hybrid schemes.
